CT angiography
Considering that cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death in the world, timely diagnosis can prevent many complications caused by this disease, including strokes and heart failure. CT angiography is one of the newest, least complicated and fastest methods. Cardiovascular examination is for cardiac treatments. In Mehrgan Hospital, this procedure has been provided by installing the latest German Siemens imaging device along with experienced and trained staff.

CT scan is an advanced X-ray imaging method that takes cross-sectional images of the heart. To have a CT scan, you lie on a movable bed that is inserted into a tube-shaped scanner. Many pictures are taken from all sides of your body. A computer combines these images to produce a detailed cross-sectional image of a structure such as the heart. The doctor evaluates the images of the heart, lungs, and large blood vessels. CT scans are often used to see calcification (calcium deposits on tissues as a natural reaction to injury) in blood vessels due to atherosclerosis or in the heart muscle due to a heart attack. Like other procedures that use X-rays, a CT scan passes a safe amount of X-rays through the body that does not remain in the body after the examination is complete. In some cases, a contrast material (iodine-based dye) is injected into the bloodstream to get a clearer image of the target organ. If you are not going to be injected with contrast material, you will be told not to eat anything for 2 hours before the test. If you are going to be injected with contrast material, you should not eat anything for 4 hours before the examination. You will be asked to wear a hospital gown and lie on a table. If a contrast material is used, a vein will be placed in your arm. This table will slowly move towards the scanner. The technician starts taking pictures and asks you to hold your breath as you take each picture while lying down. After the review is done, you can go about your normal business.
